The Covid situations in the state had once again reached the Telangana High Court. A petition that deals with the pandemic situations came up for the hearing before the court earlier today. During the hearing, the court made some key comments on the situation.

Talking about the classes for the students, the Telangana High Court said that, the online classes should also be held along with the offline classes till the 20th of this month. Having said that, the Court also asked the government about the measures it is taking to curb the infections. What measures are taken by the government, the court asked.

As the Covid cases are increasing rapidly in the country, the High Court had directed the government to submit a detailed report on what are the steps it is taking to stop the virus from further spreading. Giving two weeks for the government to file a report, the High Court adjourned the net hearing to the 20th of February.

While issuing the directives to the government to make sure that the Covid protocols were followed at the places that attract good footfall, the Court also asked the government to mention what action is being taken against those who won't follow the protocols in the report that will be filed for the next hearing.

Director of public health and family welfare Dr. G. Srinivasa Rao had appeared before the High Court on the behalf of the Telangana High Court for the hearing. In the report that was filed before the court by him, the positivity rates reported in various regions and the measures taken by the government were mentioned.

The fresh Covid infections in Telangana have been coming down slowly. Less than 3,000 single-day infections were reported the other day. After more than 80,000 samples were tested to detect the infections, as many as 2,646 people were tested positive for the virus. The Covid death toll rose to 4,094 in the state after four patients lost their battle with contagious respiratory disease.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits continue to report more cases in the capital followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri, Ramgareddy, Hanamkonda, and Karimnagar.
