Amid this, a doctor came in contact with the respiratory disease not twice but thrice. The doctor was tested positive for the third time after she was administered with the doses.
As per the reports, Dr Shrusthi Halari who works at the Mumbai Mulund Covid Centre had tested positive for the virus three times.
Looking at the timeline of her infections, the doctor was infected with Covid in June last year, May and July this year.
After testing Covid positive last year, Dr Shrusthi Halari recovered from the virus and took two doses of the vaccine. However, she tested positive post her vaccinations.
It is said that her family members were also infected with the virus in July, while they received their due vaccine doses in May.
Talking about her situation, the doctor reportedly said that she had a tough time battling the virus when she was infected for the third time.
She went on to say that her brother and mother are diabetic, while her father has hypertension. My brother developed difficulties in taking breath and the doctors kept him on oxygen support for a couple of days, she said.
To get a better understanding on the reasons behind the reinfection of the doctor, the civic body of financial capital Mumbai, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation collected her swab samples and sent them for testing.
In a span of thirteen months, the doctors came in contact with the ongoing pandemic for three times. Getting infected with the contagious virus even after taking the vaccine doses is a major area of concern.
