Covid Second Wave: AP sees over 10k fresh cases for the first time in 2021

Like the other states, Andhra Pradesh was also hit by the second wave of the Coronavirus. As a result, the state is reporting fresh infections and even surpassing the cases it reported during the peaks of the virus during September.

For the first time, Andhra Pradesh surpassed the 10k mark in fresh infections since the second wave started on April 22. In the past 24 hours, Andhra Pradesh reported more than 10,000 fresh infections.

The data revealed by the Health Ministry stated that 41,871 samples have been tested in the past 24 hours and 10,759 people were found infected with the respiratory disease.

The latest addition of cases takes the total toll of the state to a whopping 9,97,462. As a piece of good news, as many as 9,22,977 patients have been declared cured of the virus. The active cases stood at 66,944.

On the other hand, as many as 31 patients have breathed their last battling the deadly disease. So far, the virus has claimed a total of 7,541 lives.
