Covid Second Wave effects Delivery executives, Cab Drivers in Hyderabad!
In the wake of Covid second wave, the public is fearing to take up dining-in facility at the eateries fearing the virus spread. Instead, the consumers are using online food delivery apps to order food.
With the consumers opting for food delivery apps, online deliveries are reaching new milestones. Food delivery platforms are urging the public to order food online to be safe from the virus spread claiming that their delivery executives are following the Covid-19 measures.
However, the media reports have something else to say. As quite contrary to food delivery apps claims, the delivery executives are not receiving any help from the aggregators in following the Covid-19 measures.
With no help from the aggregators, more than 300 delivery executives were infected by the Covid-19 virus. The rules say, the delivery boys should wear PPR kits while delivering food, which most of them don't wear.
On the other hand, the cab drivers in the state were also severely hit by deadly respiratory disease. More than 500 drivers working for Ola and Uber cab services have come in contact with the virus.
It has been widely reported that Ola and Uber drivers are not following the Covid-19 measures risking themselves and the health of the customers using the cab services as well.
The unions of the cab drivers and delivery boys are urging the government to lend a helping hand in terms of health insurance and compensation for those who have succumbed to Covid-19.
