In what it could be a shocker, more than 2000 cases of COVID-19 were reported in the past 24 hours in India taking the toll to 42,533. On the other hand, 72 deaths were reported in the country taking the COVID-19 fatalities count to 1,373.
To date, 11,706 people have been recovered from the fatal virus and were discharged from the hospitals accordingly. While the active cases in the country stood at 29,453 who have been provided treatment.
The positive cases of the novel coronavirus in Maharashtra surpassed the 12,000-mark which is the highest for any state in the country with the 678 positive cases in the past 24 hours while more than 500 deaths were reported in the state till date.
The positive cases of COVID-19 in Andhra Pradesh are increasing rapidly as 58 positive cases were reported in the state in the past 24 hours taking the toll of the cases to 1,583. Kurnool reported more number of cases with 30 followed by 11 with Guntur.
47 people were discharged in the last 24 hours in Andhra Pradesh taking the toll to 488. As of now, the active cases in the state stood at 1,062 while 6,534 samples were tested for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.
The data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Telangana stated that 19 fresh cases of COVID-19 were reported in the state which takes the toll of the cases to 1,082.
Out of the total cases, 490 have managed to recover and get discharged from the hospitals, while 29 have succumbed to the fatal virus in the state as of now.
Talking about the worldwide scenario, the positive cases surpassed 3.5 million-mark while most of the cases were reported from Europe and the United States as per the data collected by Hopkins University.
Globally the positive cases of COVID-19 stood at 3,500,517 while 246,893 succumbed to the dreaded virus as of now. Europe has more than 1.5 million positive cases and claimed 143,000 deaths.
