One More Cricketer joins Politics

Cricketer Shadab Jakati Today took up the challenge taking the plunge into politics. He joined the newly-formed Goa Forward (GF) party. 'Cricket is my life! Now it is time to take Goa Forward n make politics a gentleman’s game #GoaForward #VijaiSardesai,' he wrote on his Twitter page.

The 35-Year-Old left-arm spinner & left-handed batsman represents Goa in First Class Cricket and Gujarat Lions in Indian Premier League (IPL). Earlier, He played for Chennai Super Kings for six seasons.

With Goa Assembly elections scheduled to take place in an year, Jakati's entry will improve the prospects of Goa Forward Party.

Goa Forward Party's Spokesperson Durgadas Kamat opined Jakati will be instrumental in taking the fight against ruling BJP. He claimed Jakati is quite impressed with the party's model to encourage youngsters. He further adds, Party Leadership is willing to offer him a ticket if he is keen to contest in next Assembly polls.
