dian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed that Kyant Cyclone which was supposed to hit Odisha coast has changed it direction and heading towards Uttar Andhra.
Currently, Kyant Cyclone is at a distance of 800 km east of Visakha. It is expected to hit the Vizag coast within the next 72 hours. The winds could be around 65 kmph in the cyclone affected areas.
As per Met Department, Coastal Districts of AP will receive moderate rainfall in the next 24 hours. Heavy rainfall is predicted on Friday and Saturday.
Already, State Government cautioned fisherman not to go into the sea. CM Chandrababu Naidu has been monitoring the situation and making the authorities stand on their toes to handle any kind of situation.
Will Kyant be yet another Hudhud Cyclone? Two years have passed since Hudhud and People of Visakha are yet to forget it. Let's only pray there won't be a repeat of a natural disaster of such magnitude!
