AP CM Chandrababu Naidu claims completion of Polavaram Project is his biggest dream. But, His Brother-in-Law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao discloses that Polavaram actually got delayed for several years only because of the TDP Supremo.
In 1996, Then PM Deve Gowda convened a high-level meeting to sanction Polavaram Project. Even TDP Leader Yerran Naidu took part in this meeting. Deve Gowda offered to provide all possible help from Centre for completion of Polavaram. When he sought a report on Polavaram from State Government, Chandrababu Naidu who was CM then informed that there are no details regarding the project.
Daggubati Venkateswara Rao: 'Had if Chandrababu responded positively, The project would have been completed by 2002'.
Mr.Rao said YS Rajasekhar Reddy was instrumental in obtaining necessary permissions for Polavaram. He also revealed Purandeswari quit Congress after the National Party didn't include 7 mandals of Telangana in AP for the sake Polavaram Project.
