NTR's son-in-law Daggubati Venkateswara Rao played a key role in TDP. He supported Chandrababu when Babu dethroned NTR and captured power. In the later developments, Babu sidelined Daggubati for the reasons best known to all. Daggubati has written two books exposing the conspiracy behind Chandrababu dethroning NTR in the later years. He has been staying away from politics since 2014 though his wife Purandeswhari has been playing an active role in BJP.
Daggubati never leaves an opportunity to take potshots at his co-brother Chandrababu. Daggubati slammed Chandrababu in a press meet on Wednesday. He found fault in Babu policies. He slammed Babu that for taking Amaravati as the new capital. He said that Babu has damaged thousands of acres of fertile land that would yield three crops a year for the sake of the capital city. He questioned, "Do we require such a big city?"
While talking about Polavaram Project, he wondered why Chandrababu government is struggling with the project when it is actually a National project and the center will take care of the execution.
On the other hand, he showered praises on YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy. He said "Jagan excelled as the Opposition leader. He is trying to win the hearts of the people with his Padayatra. His party is mobilising the crowds but still, the response he is getting is phenomenal. YSRCP has emerged as a strong force and their efforts will definitely pay off."
