The ruling TRS in Telangana is said to have been shocked by the negative feedback the party is getting for the ambitious Dalit Bandhu scheme in poll-bound Huzurabad. The scheme, which aims to deposit Rs 10 lakh into the account of every Dalit family, was launched in Huzurabad. TRS boss and CM KCR hoped to turn the tide against BJP candidate Eatala Rajendera through this scheme.
However, the intel feedback and the ground-level feedback from the party have shown that the Dalit Bandhu is actually proving counterproductive. There is distrust among the Dalits about the implementation of the scheme. Among the non-Dalit communities, especially the BCs, there is a dissatisfaction over the scheme being not extended to them. Thus, the party seems to be losing both the days. Sources say that KCR is said to have expressed deep dissatisfaction over the lack of any positive impact of the scheme on the voters of Huzurabad.
He is said to have given an earful to ministers Gangula Kamalakar, Harish Rao and Koppula Eswar. He is said to have asked the ministers as to why there was no impact of the Dalit Bandhu scheme. The scheme was launched on August 16 and was implemented in 15 families on a pilot basis. However, the regulations and the policy for the scheme has not been finalized. As a result, there is lot of confusion among the people of Huzurabad.
Meanwhile intel reports have shown that the scheme seems to be having negative impact in the constituency. KCR is said to have been quite upset with the report. He is said to have asked the ministers about what could be done to improve the situation. As of now, the ministers too have no answers to the queries posed by KCR.
