The declaration about the formation of Telangana comprising of 10 districts will be announced by the Centre soon. After the Congress Working Committee meeting on Tuesday, High Command will formally inform its allies about the decision of statehood and the road-map for the new state (29th in the country).
As per the sources, Hyderabad willn't be made an Union Territory. Instead, it will be a common capital for Andhra Pradesh (Andhra & Telangana regions) and the new Telangana state.
The formation of Telangana is likely to be completed by early 2014. At first, President of India will be informed about the plans and AP MLAs would asked to share their views. Government will then constitute a committee for consensus between the leaders of all the three regions for clarity on various issues like revenue and water. With Parliament passing the resolution, the process of separate statehood nears completion.
Seemandhra Leaders including CM Kiran Kumar Reddy were very upset with the decision. Although Kiran offered resignation, he was asked by the leadership not to do so at this juncture.
