Delhi Analysis:AAP won with Congress party votes

Update: 2015-02-10 10:47 GMT
Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has left the BJP & Congress  in a state of shock by winning 67 of the total 70 seats in the Delhi Assembly Elections. What factors helped AAP to get landslide victory is the big question here. As per analysts huge number of Congress' votes got transferred to the Arvind Kejriwal-led party

The complete collapse of the Congress and the resultant shift of its vote bank to the AAP turned as boon for the party. AAP which has got 30% votes in 2013 now earned 54% votes and it means a huge 24% growth.

Other side Congress’ 2013 vote share of 25% is now down to 9%  and it reduced 16 % of votes. In the same way 12% vote share of others came down to 3% .That means total of 25%(Congress and others) votes turned in favor to AAP.

Ironically BJP has got 33% vote share in 2013 and it has got almost same amounts of votes in this time too.BJP failed to won the hearts of Delhi people and more over anti-incumbency did not work in Delhi for BJP unlike other states. Meanwhile Arvind Kejriwal will take oath as Delhi Chief Minister on February 14 at the Ramlila Grounds.
