The Delhi High Court Today granted conditional bail to former Union Minister P Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram in the INX Media corruption case. He was asked to furnish a surety of Rs 10 lakh and necessary documents stating CBI's permission will be sought in case of having any plans to leave the country.

Whereas, CBI opposed the bail plea of Karti Chidambaram saying he had already destroyed evidence related to the case and he was very influential. However, High Court didn't entertain this argument.

CBI charged Karti Chidambaram for allegedly accepting bribe from INX Media in 2007 for facilitating Foreign Investment Promotion Board clearance to the media house using the power his father. He was arrested soon after his return from UK on February 28th. The 12-day Judicial Custody expires tomorrow.

Enforcement Directorate moved Supreme Court against the bail granted to Karti Chidambaram on Friday. Already, Assets worth Rs 11.6 million belonging the Jr.Chidambaram were attached by the agency.
