Delhi Logging Highest Covid Cases since Feb hints at 4th Wave!

Update: 2022-04-18 05:32 GMT
After bracing as many as three deadly waves of the dangerous Covid pandemic, India has been having relief and the cases have come down rapidly. Wearing a mask is not mandatory in many regions of the country. However, the current situations hint that the happiness on Covid is just short-lived.

Adding fuel to the reports of a possible fourth wave of Covid, the weekly cases in the country saw a jump of over 35 percent. The scary thing is that the national capital Delhi reported the highest number of Covid cases in recent times, which is raising many concerns and fears.

It has been widely reported that Delhi saw as many as 517 new infections triggered by the covid, which took the cases positivity rate to 4.21 percent. Since February, this is the highest toll of cases reported in the national capital Delhi.

With the Delhi NCR seeing high cases, the neighboring states Haryana and Uttar Pradesh had swung into action and advised the medical department to look into the matter and take all the required measures to see that the virus is not concerned.

The Health Department officials have urged the public to not take the virus for granted and have appealed to them to visit the nearby Covid center if they develop any symptoms like fever, body pains, and uneasiness. They said that following Covid behavior will save the infected persons and others too.

The surge in fresh infections came at the time when the new sub-variant of the novel Coronavirus XE is raising many fears. After the first infection was reported in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Gujarat also reported the infections.

Though there is no information, many experts feel that the new sub-variant might be the driving force behind the surge in the infections and called for more tests and urged the public to make sure that they follow the Covid protocol of maintaining distance from others and to have personal hygiene.

On the other hand, the Covid infections in the country went past the 186 crore mark. The national recovery percentage is close to 99 percent with an accurate percentage of 98.76. Besides adults, the teenagers are also being administered the Covid vaccines as a precautionary measure.
