Indian industrialist, philanthropist, and former chairman of Tata Sons, Ratan Tata doesn't need any introduction. He is one of the noted Industrialists who contribute to the country's growth.

On Friday, Twitterati started trending the #BharatRatnaForRatanTata hashtag, to extend their support to confer Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award to the legendary industrialist.

The hashtag got momentum with the call given by motivational speaker Dr. Vivek Bhindra. In his tweet, Bindra said Ratan Tata, who believes today's generation of entrepreneurs can take the country to the next level should be conferred with Bharat Ratna.

Following the call, the netizens started giving reasons on why Ratan Tata should be conferred with the highest civil award in the country.

Now the philanthropist has urged the netizens to end the campaign. Mr. Tatan said, being able to contribute to the country's growth and prosperity makes him happy.

"While I appreciate the sentiments expressed by a section of the social media in terms of an award, I would humbly like to request that such campaigns be discontinued. Instead, I consider myself fortunate to be an Indian and to try and contribute to India's growth and prosperity," Mr. Tata's tweet reads.
