The CBI Court convicted Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh and three of his followers in the murder of Journalist Ram Chander Chattarpati (51).
Mr. Chattarpati was shot dead outside his house on October 24th, 2002. In this murder case, Dera Sacha Sauda Chief Ram Rahim, Former Dera Manager Krishan Lal, Dera Carpenters Nirmal Singh and Kuldeep Singh were found guilty of murder. Court will pronounce the quantum of punishment on January 17th.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is already undergoing a 20 year jail sentence for sexually exploiting two of his Women Followers. Due to security reasons, He was made to attend the court proceedings over video-conferencing from the Sunaria District Jail in Rohtak. Rest of the three convicts were also taken into custody after the court verdict.
