The much-awaited Presidential polls were started earlier today and the houses of representatives are seeing good footfall with the legislators using their vote right to elect the president. A former Chief Minister came all the way to the state Assembly and used his vote, which made many heads turn.
Ex-CM voting is not a piece of news. But a person who said he won't enter the assembly unless he becomes the Chief Minister entering the house will shock others usually as happened now. Yes, we are talking about TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu heer.
Chandrababu Naidu, who earlier took a big pledge that he won't enter the Assembly unless he becomes the Chief Minister broke his pledge and visited the house to cast his vote for Murmu, BJP's President candidate.
Though it is a shock that the TDP chief broke his promise, the grand old party is trying hard to settle the issues with BJP. TDP is dealing with a crisis that if it cant win the upcoming polls then the chances of it sustaining are very less.
That is the reason why the grand old party extended its support to Murmu even though the BJP did not ask. That is the desperation the opposition has and the same desperation might have forced the chief to break his pledge.
TDP recorded a historic loss in the 2019 polls by barely winning 23 Assembly seats. Many leaders left the party and few others are expected to do the same.
