Dharavi Reports 42 Fresh COVID-19 Cases

Maharashtra continues to be the worst-hit state of the COVID-19 as 42 fresh cases of the novel coronavirus were reported from Dharavi slums, which is the biggest slum in Asia.

With the new cases, the toll of the positive cases in the slums has increased to 330. In the past 24 hours, four deaths were reported in the area taking the death toll to 18 in the area.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued a statement to confirm the fresh cases in the area.

"Four deaths and 42 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported in Dharavi area today. The total positive cases in the area stand at 330 and the death toll has risen to 18," the statement read.

The toll of the positive cases in the state is heading towards the 6,000 marks. The cunt stood at 5,982 with 393 fresh cases reported in the state n the past 24 hours. To date, 244 have succumbed to the virus in the state.
