Dhivya Suryadevara, an Indian-American Woman, has been named as the Chief Finance Officer (CFO) of US largest automaker General Motors. Currently, She is serving as the Vice President of Corporate Finance.
The term of General Motors CFO Chuck Stevens will end by August end this year. Dhivya Suryadevara will succeed him on September 1st, 2018. She is the first woman to attain such a position in the auto industry.
Dhivya Suryadevara was born in Chennai on April 14th, 1980. She lost her Father at a very young age. Divya obtained her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Commerce from the University of Madras in Chennai. For pursuing MBA from Harvard University, She moved to US at the age of 22. Before joining General Motors in 2005 at the age of 25, Divya worked at UBS and Pricewaterhouscoopers as financial analyst and accountant. She got settled in New York and have a daughter.
In 2016, Dhivya was named as Automotive News Rising Star. She also featured in the list of Business 40 Under 40 Achievers.
