The former Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is in the news for the wrong reason. Based on a complaint received, a local court in Bihar booked Mahendra Singh Dhoni and a few others in connection with a cheque bounce case. The case which is in the news goes back to a few years.
One DS Enterprises brought fertilizer worth Rs 30.86 lakh from the New Global Upajvardhak India Limited. However, the fertilizer the company brought was not up to the mark in terms of quality. As the fertilizers were not of good quality they remained unsold.
When DS Enterprises chairman Neeraj Kumar Nirala approached the New Global Upajvardhak India Limited, the company took back the remaining stock and in return, the company was given a cheque of Rs 30 lakh. However, the cheque which was deposited with the bank bounced.
Seeking a reply on the cheque bounce, the DS Enterprises reportedly sent a legal notice. With no response coming from them, the company Chairman moved the Chief Judicial Magistrate against the company and its chairman on the alleged cheque bounce issues. The reason behind involving Mahendra Singh Dhoni in this issue is that Dhoni had promoted the New Global Upajvardhak India Limited.
One wonders why Mahendra Singh Dhoni was involved in this. In a similar case, a court asked Mahendra Singh Dhoni to pay a penalty as the real estate company he endorsed could not hand over the flats to the customers. As the case goes braces to a few years, it might not stand any chance here.
