Mahendra Singh Dhoni moved the Supreme Court against the Amrapali Group which he had endorsed from 2009 to 2016.
The Former Indian Skipper informed the Supreme Court that he had been the brand ambassador of Amrapali Group and also booked the penthouse in Amrapali Safari in Ranchi. He now alleges Amrapali Group has cheated him by not clearing the outstanding amount of Rs 40 crore for brand promotion and also didn't handover the penthouse to him till date.
Amrapali Group faced financial crunch and failed to handover the flats booked by 46,000 buyers. All of them moved the Supreme Court seeking justice. Following which, The Apex Court ordered for attachment of properties belonging to Amrapali Group, It's associate companies and their Directors. In addition, Government-owned NBCC (India) Ltd was ordered to complete two unfinished housing projects of the Amrapali Group. Amrapali Group's CMD Anil Sharma and Two Directors (Shiv Deewani, Ajay Kumar) were arrested by the Cops on February 28th, 2019.
