Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Sahara Adventure Sports Limited have been now officially the co-owners of new Ranchi franchise of Hockey Indian League (HIL) named as Ranchi Rays.
Following the difference between owners (Patel-PS Group and Uniexcel Group) and Hockey India (HI), Ranchi Rhinos who were the champions of HIL first season and finished 3rd in the second season has been scrapped. The new franchise Ranchi Rays has been unveiled on Saturday.
Dhoni is the 4th Indian cricketer to associate himself with the up coming Indian Super League (ISL). The other three were Sachin Tendulkar (Kerala Blasters), Sourav Ganguly (Atletico De Kolkata) and Virat Kohli (FC Goa).
