To encourage citizens to opt for cash less transactions, Union Government announced discount on purchase of petrol and diesel through digital payment. From December 13th (Tuesday), People could avail this discount and the cash back would be credited directly to the bank account within three working days.
If the payment is being made using either Debit or Credit Card, Citizens could avail a discount of 0.75% per litre. For E-Wallets or Mobile Wallets, The discount will be 49 paisa a litre on petrol and 41 paisa a litre on diesel.
Last week, Finance Ministry has announced discounts on online payments for insurance policies, rail tickets and toll charges.
