Distributors spoiled Kadali's Chances

Update: 2013-02-01 02:18 GMT

Already many trade pundits say that February is an unreason to release moves as students are busy preparing for exams and severe winter taking toll on second shows. And now, these distributors are also showing empty hands.

Mani Ratnam's latest flick 'Kadali' is releasing today and it hasn't garnered enough hype as the maker thought of. Rahman's music or the much controversial lip-kiss has not escalated the movie's chances in grabbing number of theatres. The producers are able to bag only 120 theatres for 'Kadali' in Andhra Pradesh. Even a small movie will be able to get 80-100 theatres in Tollywood and this looks like a complete injustice to Mani’s flick.

It is heard that distributors are playing spoilsport for 'Kadali' as they want to keep theatres empty for Prabhas upcoming 'Mirchi'. Even for that there is one week time and they should have offered this week to 'Kadali' to help producer recover. Let us see how this movie impresses audiences.
