Holding of rival party's flag by Congress strongman DK Sivakumara is creating ripples within the Karnataka Congress Party. During the rally organised to welcome him after he was given a bail, Congress leader DK Sivakumara was offered a Janata Dal Secular flag. He held aloft the flag. This was enough for former CM and his rival within the party Siddaramaiah to slam him. The video in which Siddaramaiah was heard saying that DK Sivakumara should decide which part he is in has gone viral.
DK is a Vokkaliga and the JDS too is a predominantly Vokkaliga party. His decision to hold the JDS flag is being interpreted as an attempt to cosy up to former CM and JDS leader Kumaraswamy. Siddaramaiah is upset that DK was pallying up to his arch rival in Mysore-Mandya area that accounts for 72 MLA seats. Siddu too is from the same region.
Realising that his comments were creating quite a commotion, Siddhu tried to do some damage control by saying that the videos where he was making comments were private ones and that the BJP had deliberately leaked them to sow confusion in the Congress. Whatever the reason, the group fight within the Congress in Karnataka has come to the fore once again.
