Former Minister to join TDP

Former Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad has finally made up his mind to join Telugu Desam Party.

On Sunday, Dokka Manikya Varaprasad will be meeting AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu at his residence and join the ruling party in his presence. MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao and Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao will also be present during this meeting.

Dokka Manikya Varaprasad served as MLA for two terms (2004, 2009) and always known to be a Congress loyalist. He remained in Congress even after bifurcation but didn't contest in 2014 General Elections. Since the past one year, He is mulling on whether to join YSR Congress or TDP. At one time, There is strong buzz that he is going to take YCP Membership. It was his Mentor Rayapati Sambasiva Rao who is instrumental in convincing Dokka to shift loyalties to TDP. With the entry of Dokka, TDP becomes much more stronger in Guntur district.
