Donald Trump Didn't Agree With National Mask Mandate

Update: 2020-07-18 13:19 GMT
While the US is witnessing the highest spike in Coronavirus cases, a serious political debate on wearing masks is seen across the country.

Dr Anthony Fauci, the nation's top infectious disease specialist, urged political leaders to "be as forceful as possible in getting your citizenry to wear masks."

However, President Trump has vowed not to order Americans to wear masks to contain the spread of coronavirus. Trump told Fox News on Friday he did not believe in implementing a national mask mandate.

Trump, who had previously resisted wearing a face, wore a mask in public for the first time last Saturday.

But speaking to a media house on Friday, he said that he didn't agree with a national mask mandate, saying people should have a "certain freedom".
