Drug Controller comes down on Gautam Gambhir, accuses him of unauthorized purchase of Covid medicine
World Cup-winning cricketer, BJP MP Gautam Gambhir suffered a big shock after the Delhi wing of Drug Controller accused him of buying and distributing medicines without required permission.
The Delhi High Court today heard a petition over Gautam Gambhir's foundation reportedly violating the norms by distributing a vital drug without any license.
During the argument, Delhi Drug Controller has come down severely on the Cricketer-turned-politician and accused him of contravening the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act.
Adding further, the drug body said, the MP's Foundation had indulged in procuring, stocking, and distributing Favipiravir drug. The Foundation doesn't hold the license to supply medical oxygen either, the body said.
The Delhi High Court has adjourned the next hearing to the 29th of July and asked the drug controller to file a status report in this regard.
After the court hearing, Gautam Gambhir took to Twitter and shared a quote of celebrated Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh. "I am a man and all that affects mankind concerns me - Sardar Bhagat Singh!" he tweeted.
