Drug inspectors bust Remdesivir Injections selling black marketing racket in Guntur

The antiviral injection, Remdesivir injection is a key in battling the Coronavirus, which is given for the Covid-19 patients. Given the need for the injections, fraudsters were selling the injections in black market illegally.

Based on a tip-off, Drug inspectors have swung into action and busted a racket that is selling Remdesivir injections illegally in Andhra Pradesh's Guntur. Four people involved in the racket were also arrested.

During the raid, the Drug inspectors have found that the accused are selling the injections for Rs 12,000- Rs 15,000. Six injections from the gang were seized by the officials.

In another incident, Drug inspectors have caught hold of three male nurses who are selling injections illegally in Narasaraopet. A total of seven doses of injections were seized from them.

Following this, the Drug inspectors are keeping a vigil on the injections and said strict action will be taken against those who indulge in the black market sale of Remdesivir injections.

All the staff members who were caught are working in private hospitals. It is said that they have stolen the injections from the hospitals and are selling them in the black market. The investigation is underway to see if any doctors were involved in the racket.
