In what could be a major political quake for the Congress in Telangana Congress Partys most trusted leader and Gandhi family acolyte D Srinivas decided to quit the party. Srinivas on Thursday quit the party and announced his decision to join the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS).
Addressing the media Srinivas told reporters it was a sad day for him to quit a party with which he was associated for four decades."It's a sad day because I worked in the party since the days of Indira Gandhi," he said. DS thanked Sonia for having confidence in him and giving him an opportunity to serve the organisation and the people.
DS has been sulking over denial of MLC ticket to him from few days. DS has recently met senior TRS leader and former Congressman K Keshava Rao. He reportedly discussed his entry into the TRS. The TRS is reported to have assured him to nominate him as an MLC.
