EC's EVM Challenge to Political Parties

Update: 2017-05-20 15:12 GMT
Leaders of Political Parties who were on the losing side kept alleging that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) had been tampered and hence the result hasn't come in their favour.

Chief Election Commissioner Nasim Zaidi has thrown an Open Challenge to Political Parties. He asked the parties which alleged EVMs can be tampered to prove it by accepting the challenge. 'EVM Challenge will begin on June 3rd this year,' he announced.

Nasim Zaidi clarified replacement of internal circuit of EVMs is just impossible and these machines are tamper-proof. He even said none of the parties or politicians who believe EVMs don't guarantee fair election failed to produce a proof so far.

After AAP and BSP alleged EVMs used in the recent 5-States Assembly Polls have been tampered to favour BJP, Many other Political Parties questioned the reliability of these voting machines. A meeting participated by over 50 parties even urged EC to resume using ballot papers again instead of EVMS. Now, The EVM Challenge thrown by EC has come as a surprise to these parties.
