EC Says 80 MPs Did Not Submit Their Election Expenditure

Leaving many MPs in shock the National Election Watch(NEW) has released the list of the MPs who did not submit their expenditure details at the time of elections. While 80 MPs did not submit their expenditure details and out of the 80, 17 MPs are from the Telugu States.

Out of the 17 MPs, 15 MPs are from Andhra Pradesh while the remaining 2 MPs are from Telangana. Going by the rules the MPs are expected to submit the details of the expenditure within 90 days after the election gets completed.

The Election Commission posses all the powers to take any sort of action on the MPs who did not submit the details within the deadline.

The EC is not happy with the MPs not submitting the expenditure details till now and directed the MPs to file an Affidavit with the details of the expenditure and if they failed to do so it has the power to take action on them. The EC went on to say that it can even cancel the election if the MPs did not file the Affidavit.

Election Watch Convenor V.V. Rao ordered the MPs to file the affidavit within 45 days. If they did not file the affidavit, the EC has the power to take action on the MPs.
