EC Searches Planes Of Rahul & Amit Shah

Update: 2018-04-04 05:11 GMT
Election Commission Officials searched the special aircrafts of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi and BJP President Amit Shah soon after they landed at Hubballi Airport in poll-bound Karnataka on Tuesday. This exercise can be seen as a major step towards ensuring free and fair elections in Karnataka.

Three District-level Officers took part in the search operation. The Team was led by nodal officer Karpale. Deputy Commissioner of Dharwad district told it was a random search and completely unintentional.

Post the searches in two aircrafts, Election Nodal Officer declared they haven't found anything violating the poll code.

Rahul Gandhi and Amit Shah are campaigning aggressively in Karnataka since few months. The only way BJP could retain power in 2019 Polls is by increasing it's vote share down South. To achieve it, Saffron Party has to do extremely well in the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Polls.
