Election Results An Indication That People Are In Favour Of Three Capitals
The ruling YSRCP has swept the civic body polls in Andhra Pradesh. The election result is very special to the government for many reasons and the victory should be seen as a public referendum.
YSRCP Single-headedly crushed the opposition TDP by wining the Corporations and Municipalities with a big margin. There is no stopping for the party in Chittor district, where TDP is very strong.
Tirupati Corporation which went for elections nearly after 19 years was claimed by the YSRCP with a margin of 48-2. The YSRCP has claimed not less than 22 divisions unanimously.TDP was restricted to one division only.
TDP's efforts to bank of Amaravati issue too failed miserably with the YSRCP winning the Guntur and Vijayawada Corporations quite easily.
TDP used all its options like Chandrababu Naidu and Nandamuri Balakrishna campaigning in their respective constituencies to boost the winning chances of the party. But their efforts went in vain.
On the other hand, the YSRCP had won the elections without Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy campaigning either personally or through any medium. Only the welfare schemes and trust the people have in him resulted in the landslide victory.
The opposition party lost its control on Chittor district completely with back-to-back losses YSRCP domination on the district started with the 2019 elections and now reached the Municipal elections.
The tactics used by the TDP like provoking the voters on Guntur and Vijayawada over the Amaravat row didnât come in handy for the party. Moreover, it helped the YSRCP win the elections.
The political observers cite that the election results in Municipal polls and local body elections should be seen as the referendum of the people and they are with the government in the Three capitalsâ decisions too.
