The ruling party in Telangana is focusing on national politics. The general elections are slated for commencement in a few months and once they are held, the BRS can shift its focus on national politics. BRS is focusing on states where it can have a big advantage. The party leadership is in plans to try its luck in fellow Telugu state Andhra Pradesh.
As the Vizag steel plant was listed for privatization, the BRS reportedly wants to take part in this and try to win the bid. If the BRS can do this, then it will have the required boost to enter Andhra Pradesh and seek votes from the people.
Ahead of this, the BRS faced a big blow. The BRS party lost the state party tag in Andhra Pradesh. Citing the rules, the Election Commission scrapped the state party tag. The party would serve as the registered party which is unregistered. BRS will get the Registered Unrecognised Political Parties (RUPP)status in the state.
With this, the BRS cannot get the party symbol of a car in Andhra Pradesh. The car symbol is so popular that TRS is called a car party. But the same is not going to happen in Andhra Pradesh. The situation is such that whoever gets to apply for the symbols will get the car as the election symbol.
If the BRS wants a car as the election symbol then it has to apply for the same with the Election Commission. We have to wait and see what happens with this.
To give an example of how popular car symbol is, in the previous elections a few candidates lost the elections by a small margin due to a similar election symbol. The independent candidates were given symbols like vans, autos, and jeeps. This resulted in the BRS candidates losing the polls.
This happened in even the Munugode by-elections. After an independent candidate was given a road roller as an election symbol, the BRS leaders raised a few objections and approached the Election Commission of India to change the election symbol of the candidates. A similar thing might happen in AP as well.
