Update: 2018-02-24 09:21 GMT
Don't be in an impression that what Rajya Sabha has to do with glamour.  If we have a look at the list of Rajya Sabha members who are completing their term now, we can understand about the missing glamour.  58 MPs in Rajya Sabha from 16 states including the two Telugu states are going to complete their term soon.

The specialty of these leaders is that some of them are synonymous with glamour.  In fact, it is very difficult to replace their glamour in Rajya Sabha.  The reason is.. Bharata Ratna Sachin Tendulkar.. Bollywood senior actresses Rekha.. Jaya Bachchan and Megastar Chiranjeevi are going to complete their term.  Many opine that it is difficult for the new members to match their glamour.

The elections are going to take place for these 58 MP seats on March 23.  On the other hand, bypoll is going to take place for the MP seat resigned by Kerala JDU member Veerendra Kumar.  On the whole, 59 new members are going to enter Rajya Sabha after March 23.  The majority of them will be from Uttar Pradesh.  If we take a look at the numbers.. 10 members from UP, 6 each from Bihar..Maharashtra, 5 each from Madhya Pradesh.. West Bengal... six from the two Telugu states.

It is interesting to note that 8 among them are central ministers.  Central Finance Minister Arun Jaitley..  Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot, Minister for HRD Prakash Javadekar.. Minister of Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda..  Minister for Petroleum Dharmendra Pradhan.. Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.. Deputy Ministers Purushottam Rupala.. Mansukh L Mandaviya also among them.

Apart from these leaders,  BJP senior leader Vinay Katiyar.. Bhupendra Yadav also on the list.  Chiranjeevi.. Renuka Chowdary..  Devender Goud from AP,  CM Ramesh.. Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar are from Telangana are about to retire.  As senior Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy expired a few months ago, his seat is also vacant.
