Whither Kodandaram, this is the question that is increasingly being asked in the political circles. Till now, Prof Kodandaram has never contested an election. His party â the Telangana Jana Samithi- was always in alliance with the Congress. For the first ever time, he tested his luck as an MLC candidate and came a cropper.
What is more disconcerting for him is that he came third after a young Teenmaar Mallanna. Despite his dalliance with the Congress, the party did not support him in the MLC elections. It had put up its own candidate and campaigned against Prof. Kodandaram. As a result, Prof. Kodandaram lagged behind during the counting. Now, there are questions about the furute political moves of Prof. Kodandaram and the future of his party, the TJS. The party is in total disarray and there is severe fund crunch. There are indications that the party might soon wind up.
Meanwhile, sources close to Kodandaram said that he might wrap up the party but could continue as a lone ranger against the TRS government. There are chances that he would continue his fight but his party might fizzle out completely.
