The high-intense political battle in Telangana in Huzurabad by-election is nearing the climax stage as the vote-counting is underway. The counting was like a jig jag as the lead kept on shifting between Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) candidate Gellu Srinivas Yadav and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Eatala Rajender. Etela Rajender was in the lead in a few rounds while Gellu Srinivas was in lead in a few rounds.

The State president of the student wing of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, Gellu Srinivas Yadav faced a big shock after the voters in Himmatnagar, his native place, gave a lead to Etela Rajender. The BJP candidate is leading by 191 votes in Himmatnagar. POn the other hand, Etela got a lead of 76 votes in Pedda Papaiah Pally, the native place of Gellu Srinivas Yadav's wife's native place.

For the crucial election, the ruling TRS had preferred student leader Gellu Srinivas Yadav and give him the ticket. Leaders have campaigned for him intensely. The political fight which was expected to be a three-face fight between BJP-TRS-Congress had turned out to be a fight between ruling TRS and opposition BJP.

The postal ballot votes were counted recently and this gave a slight lead to Gellu Srinivas Yadav who is leading by 162 votes against Etela Rajender. Eight rounds were finished so far and Gellu Srinivas Yadav is leading with a small margin.

As announced earlier, the vote counting started today morning and the state-run SRR Degree College is hosting the counting process. It is said that the votes would be counted in around 22 rounds. By tonight, the final result is expected to be out.

TRS and BJP took the by-poll prestigiously and gave their best in the election. Etela Rajender who took part in Telangana agitation and held Cabinet post in TRS left the party and joined the BJP following the alleged land grabbing row. He donned a BJP shawl in the national capital Delhi.

Etela Rajender who had won the Huzurabad constituency for four consecutive contested the by-poll on BJP ticket. He is hoping to take forward his winning streak and see the fifth win from the constituency.
