Over the past few days, media reports are abuzz that former Telangana Health MinisterEtela Rajender, who was stripped of his portfolio is all set to join the saffron party BJP. Etela meeting BJP leaders had added fuel to these reports.
Amid this, Etela gave an interview to a leading news channel. During the interview, the former Cabinet Minister spoke about various issues, including the reports of him wearing the saffron shawl.
Rubbishing the reports, Etela Rajender said that all the reports that say he will join the BJP party are not true and urged everyone to not believe such reports.
However, the sacked Minister said that he met a few of the BJP leaders and said the intention behind meeting the leaders was different. I met the leaders to gather support for my next steps, he said.
He went on to say that, besides BJP leaders, he met with leaders from other political outfits as well.
Clearing the airs, Etela said, not only BJP, he has no plans to join any political party and he wants to remain as an independent candidate. I would resign from my MLA post and more details on the decision would be issued soon, he said.
Etela Rajender made these comments a day after reportedly meeting Union Minister Kishan Reddy, Rajya Sabha member Bhupendra Yadav and other leaders. While the reports claimed that BJP leaders offered a plum post to him, now he rubbishes those reports.
