The alleged land grabbing issue involving former Telangana Minister Etela Rajender's family was in the news for one more time as the Medak District collector said that the encroachment was true and over 70 acres of land was encroached by Jamuna Hatcheries. Having said that, the Collector said, the report was submitted to the government and strict action will be taken against the culprits.
Ex-Minister, current BJP MLA Etela Rajender responded to the Collector's claims and called the allegations false. He even dared the officials to prove the allegations and if it gets proved, he will accept any punishment in connection with the issue.
The Huzurabad MLA did not stop there. He reportedly said that he had encroached 70 acres of land, then how much land could have been encroached by KCR as he is the Chief Minister. The officials are acting against us as per the directions of the ruling party, he said.
As a response to the report that held Jamuna Hatcheries guilty of encroaching the lands in Atchampet and Hakimpet villages, Etela Rajender urged the officials to extend their services without surrendering to the political pressure. He alleged that the officers are working for the ruling party.
Speaking to the media the other day, Medak district Harish said, the allegations leveled against Jamuna Hatcheries of encroaching assigned lands are true and 70.33 acres of land that belong to 56 people from two villages encroached. The collector even said that sheds were constructed in these lands without proper approval.
The alleged land grabbing row had rocked the Telangana politics at once. Due to the allegations, Etela Rajender was stripped of his Cabinet position and an inquiry was started against him. There was a war of words between TRS and Etela Rajender.
After losing his Cabinet position, Etela Rajender opined that CM KCR would have asked for an explanation from him on the issue rather than deciding on his own.
Following this, Etela Rajender had resigned from the party and his MLA position calling for a by-election. In the election drama that went through a lot of twists and turns, Etela Rajender won the by-elections with a big margin by defeating the TRS candidate.
