Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer A B Venkateshwar Rao, who served as the intelligence chief in Andhra Pradesh during the regime of the previous TDP government made it to the headlines after a long time with his sensational letter to AP CS.

A B Venkateshwar Rao has written to CS Adityanath Das seeking directives from the Andhra Pradesh government to launch a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation(CBI) into criminal cases faced by him.

In the letter, AB V attached key documents that support his claims that false allegations were made against him, by the sleuths of CID and ACB. Forged documents were submitted by the authorities to make false allegations against him, he said.

'I request that the government order a CBI inquiry into all these forged documents created to fix me in the case pertaining to alleged irregularities in procurement of security equipment from an Israeli company during my tenure,' the senior IPS officer said in the letter.

Requested a CBI probe into allegations made against him, the former Intelligence chief said that he will knock on the doors of the High Court if his request is not addressed by the Andhra Pradesh government.

The Andhra Pradesh government led by CM Jagan Mohan Reddy removed A B Venkateshwar Rao from his post who served as Intelligence chief during the regime of the previous TDP government on the grounds of irregularities while procuring security equipment from an Israeli company.

After several twists and turns, the issue of his removal reached the Supreme Court with the AP government knocking on the doors of the apex court against the AP HC orders to reinstall him as Intelligence chief. Further inquiry, in this case, is pending.
