Opposition Parties in Telangana have been demanding the state government to announce an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the farmers who committed suicide. TDP even decided to corner the Ruling Party with the same demand in the upcoming Assemmbly session.
But, What KCR has done soon after his return from China tour has shocked his Opponents! During the cabinet meeting held on Saturday, Telangana Government decided to raise the ex-gratia to the deceased farmers families from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 6 lakh from September 19th. It also approved the proposal to extended financial assistance of Rs 51,000 for marriage of daughters of the deceased farmers through the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme.
AP Government has raised the ex-gratia amount to kin of deceased farmers to Rs 5 lakh in February 2015. Now, Telangana Government takes a steap ahead and announced Rs 6 lakh ex-gratia, which is Rs 1 lakh more than what AP Government has been offering. That's the master stroke of KCR!
