The famous Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple in Gadwal city in Telangana which is famous for Dusshera celebrations once again made it to the headlines for the festive celebrations.

The organizers of the temple have decorated the presiding deity with flower garlands that were made with currency notes.

The temple organizers have dressed up the deity as the Goddess of Wealth, Dhanalakshmi. Given the pandemic crisis, many devotees have contributed money for the decorations.

Organizers have returned the money contributed by the local devotees for the decorations.

Sri Vasavi Kanyaka Parameshwari temple treasurer was quoted by media as saying: During the current pandemic, the contributions of devotees is expensive. However, this didn’t stop the devotees from contributing.

It is believed that the amount spent on celebrations for Dusshera last year, i.e. 2019, was higher than the current year. Last year, currency notes worth over 3 cores were used for the decorations.
