The farmers' agitation against the controversial agricultural bills has been going on for a month now. The protests are gaining support from actors, sportsmen, and others from Punjab and Haryana.
However, the protest took a violent turn, with a lawyer, who hails from Punjab reportedly died on Sunday by suicide and he is said to have sacrificed his life to support the protest.
Going into detail, Amarjit Singh from Fazilka district in Punjab who is a lawyer by profession allegedly ended his life by consuming poison, at a spot which is a few kilometers away from the protest spot.
People passing by rushed him to a nearby hospital for treatment immediately. However, the doctors examined the lawyer and reportedly declared him dead on arrival.
It is also said that the cops have found a purported suicide note in which the lawyer said, he was taking this step to extend his support to the farmers' agitation.
In this purported letter, the lawyer called the agricultural bills black and said farmers, laborers, and the common public are getting a feeling of defrauded and requested Prime Minister Narendra Modi to listen to the farmer's concerns.
A case has been registered by the cops and the investigation is underway. The cops are investigating to check the authenticity of the letter as the letter is said to be dated December 18.
