Farmers file petition in High Court after CM YS Jagan three capital comments
In the wake of CM Jagan's announcement of making three capitals in Andhra Pradesh with Amaravathi as Legislation capital, Vishakapatnam as Executive capital and Kurnool as Judicial capital has evoked a massive protest in Amaravati.
A petition has been filed in the High Court. A farmer named Rama Rao has filed a petition in the Court seeking to direct the state government to continue the development as planned in Amaravati. The petitioner has demanded that the GN Rao committee should be cancelled.
Today, schools, businesses, government offices and hotels have been shut down in the wake of farmer's calls for bandh in 29 villages in the capital. Farmers held rasta roko and sit-in protests condemning the idea.
