Finally Good News On COVID-19 Pandemic

Ever since the dreaded COVID-19 outbreak, more than 200 countries were affected by the deadly virus leaving more than 8.52 lakh people infected with the dreaded virus worldwide.

At least 1,000,036 infections have been reported worldwide and 51,178 deaths, according to an AFP tally.

In the past seven days, as many new cases have been diagnosed around the world as in the 86 days previously. The number of reported deaths has doubled since March 27. To date, at least 186,000 people are considered to have recovered from the disease.

As the latest development, the University of Pittsburgh's School of Medicine researches has announced a new vaccine for the SARS-CoV-2 which is believed to be a potential vaccine.

This could be a piece of good news, the vaccine was tested on the animals which resulted in a positive result giving a big relief.

"These two viruses, which are closely related to SARS-CoV-2, teach us that a particular protein, called a spike protein, is important for inducing immunity against the virus. We knew exactly where to fight this new virus," said co-senior author Andrea Gambotto, associate professor of surgery at the Pitt School of Medicine.
