Dharavi Society closed after COVID-19 patent died

In what it could be a shocker, Asia's biggest slum Dharavi in Mumbai reported first-ever COVID-19 death where a 56-year-old man lost his life. He developed symptoms like fever, cough, respiratory issues.

It has been reported that the patient doesn't have any travel history of foreign countries. Following this, more than 300 flats and 90 shops in the society have been sealed. .

"Since he does not have a travel history, we are tracing his contact history. COVID-19 was detected as he felt unwell and was moved to Sion hospital. Seven of his family members have been put in quarantine and their test reports are awaited. The slum rehabilitation building he stayed in has been sealed," the official added.

"We have been taking all precautions that case doesn't spread in the area," the official added.
