The grand old Telugu Desam Party lost the 2019 elections cheaply and barely managed to win 23 MLA seats. As the election result forced the party into a big crisis, TDP is giving its best in making the party strong and winning the elections.
Former Minister Nara Lokesh is all set to begin his padayatra. It is said that the padayatra is tentatively titled Yuva Galam. From next month the yatra might get started and he will be touring many constituencies as part of the padayatra.
As the Telugu Desam Party is hopeful that the padayatra would boost its winning chances, the first reaction from the ruling party YSRCP came in the form of a Cabinet Minister who said that the yatra will be stopped.
Merugu Nagarjuna, who is serving as the Minister of Social Welfare of Andhra Pradesh reacted to the padayatra and said that it will be stopped in every village. He alleged that the padayatra will be stopped.
Giving a reason behind this, the Cabinet Minister alleged that the opposition party has done nothing for the SCs and Lokesh will be asked about this and once he gives a correct answer the padayatra will be allowed and till then no permission will be given.
On the flip side, the TDP supporters are alleging that it is an effort to stop the padayatra started by Nara Lokesh. They say that the ruling party is fearing the padayatra as the padayatra has been successful for many leaders who did it.
