The YSRCP is on a roll. After winning massive mandate in the state assembly, it is also moving towards winning in the council elections too. The party is all set to bag five MLC seats in the state legislative council. There are five vacancies in the council now. TDP MLCs Payyavula Keshav and Karanam Balaram have won as MLAs this time and have decided to resign from the council.
Similarly Alla Nani and Kolagatla Veerabhadraswamy of the YSRCP, who have won as MLAs this time, too will have to resign their MLC posts. Another MLC seat is also lying vacant. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy, who won on the TDP ticket had since joined the YSRCP. As is the wont in YSRCP, he had to resign the MLC post before joining the YSRCP.
Elections would soon be held for these five vacancies and the YSRCP is likely to bag all the seats comfortably. The TDP may not win even a single seat as it does not have the necessary numbers.
