No Government Bungalows For Ex-CMs: SC

Supreme Court on Monday, gave judgement on the PIL, submitted by NGO, Lokprahari against the sanctioning of Government bungalows to Ex-Chief Ministers of state, Uttar Pradesh.

The UP Government passed an amendment recently, letting the Ex-CMs of the state to have all the facilities that they enjoyed as public servants in the office even after they have lost the post.

The Government said that they wanted to show gratitude to the people in the office and continue to give them government protected bungalows.

Supreme Court took the PIL submitted by the NGO and said that the amendment is against the spirit of constitution. It dismissed the amendment and said, that any government officials public servants like CM, will be eligible to the government facilities when they are in office and post that they are common people.

Constitution wants to treat every common citizen as same and hence, Supreme Court dismissed the amendement.

Right now, Ex-CMs of state of UP,  Akhilesh Yadav, Kalyan Singh, Rajnath Singh, Mulayam Singh Yadav, Mayawati and ND Tiwari have Government bungalows.
